Evaluation of the
difficulties presented by a child should reveal the nature of the
problem, as well as the resources that the child, family and
community bring to the process of remediation. Treatment planning
incorporates all of this information.
Treatment modalities might
include:
Individual psychotherapy
designed to facilitate the resolution of emotional conflicts or to
provide training in the skills required to cope with adverse
circumstances.
Family psychotherapy
designed to address difficulties in the ways family members
communicate with each other or relate to each other's
needs.
Behavior management
training and training in parenting
skills. |
