I received my Ph.D. in Developmental
Psychology from the University of London (U.K.) in 1981. I have held
full-time faculty positions at the University of London Institute of
Psychiatry, Tulane University Psychology Department (New Orleans),
and Louisiana State University School of Medicine Department of
Psychiatry. In the course of this academic work I was responsible
for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in child psychology,
adolescent psychology, biostatistics, childhood behavior disorders
and developmental psychopathology. I also carried out a substantial
amount of research into child development and childhood
psychopathology. The findings of this research have been published
in scientific journals and presented at international
symposia.
Since 1988, I have maintained a full-time private
practice in the New Orleans and Northshore area. My practice is
devoted exclusively to the provision of psychological services to
children, adolescents and families. In this practice I try to blend
a highly specialized training in childhood psychological disorders
with a philosophy that is committed to the management of
psychological difficulties in a family and community context. A copy
of my CV can be found here.
I am happy to respond to any questions or comments
you might want to send me - either by e-mail or by any other form of
communication. I also publish at irregular intervals (but
approximately once a month) a newsletter which compiles some of the
interesting (to me!) information that crosses my desk. I call the
newsletter "Child Mental Health Notes", and if you are interested I
can send it to you via e-mail or by
fax. |
